The Office of State Revenue (OSR) is committed to protecting your privacy and developing an organisational culture that respects the privacy of individuals through ensuring the security of personal information about them. Privacy & security statement
This site is operated by the Office of State Revenue. When visiting this site, a record of your visit is logged. The following information is recorded for statistical purposes and is used by the Office of State Revenue to help improve the site. This information is supplied by your browser:
- the user's server address;
- the user's operating system (for example Windows, Mac etc);
- the user's top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc);
- the date and time of the visit to the site;
- the pages accessed and the documents downloaded;
- the previous site visited; and
- the type of browser used.
No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the Internet web server logs.
Collection of personal information

- it will not be added to a mailing list unless you have specifically requested this;

- be used for a lawful purpose;
- be collected with your consent; and
- the purpose for collection should be clear and explicit.
Cookies

The Office of State Revenue does not use cookies on its website.

Security of information
The Taxation Administration Act 2001 and other State taxation laws contain confidentiality or secrecy provisions that prohibit any officer of the Office of State Revenue (or any other government department) from accessing, recording or disclosing anyone's taxation information except in performing their duties or in specific situations permitted by state taxation laws. There are severe penalties for breaching these provisions.
The Office of State Revenue is also committed to protecting your privacy by complying with the eleven Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) as detailed in the Queensland Governments' Information Privacy Standard (IS42).
The Office of State Revenue will comply with the IPPs in relation to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information, which you may supply to us.
Any information we collect will not be used or disclosed other than for:
- The purpose for which it was collected;
- The purpose of protecting the public revenue;
- A purpose that you would reasonably expect;
- A purpose required or permitted by law; and
- A purpose authorised by you.
