Land tax reimbursements—conservation agreements

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will reimburse any land tax paid on your land if you enter into a Conservation Agreement with them.

To be eligible:

  • you (as the landholder) must fulfil the criteria to pay land tax
  • the land must include vegetation, plants or animals that are considered by the EPA to have a high conservation value (you should consult with your local EPA office for advice on the conservation value of the land)
  • you must have entered into a Conservation Agreement with the EPA to create a nature refuge over all or part of the land.

For more information, contact the EPA.

Note: Any conservation agreements with local councils or governments are not recognised as EPA agreements.
