Data entry standards

All data must be entered consistently and accurately into OSRconnect.

Any calculation made with incorrect data could cost your business thousands of dollars in increased administrative costs, penalties and unpaid tax interest (UTI). We may also investigate your organisation if our data-matching programs find any discrepancies.

Use the following guidelines when entering data into OSRconnect.

Date format

You must enter the date using a backslash between day, month and year (e.g. dd/mm/yyyy).

Names

Enter the client name exactly as written in the client's documents (using upper and lower case). You must include all available information. For example:

Each party to the transaction must be entered separately, even if there is more than one person with the same surname.

Private persons as trustees

Enter the trust name in the Full name of trust field.

Enter the proprietor's full name (as for an individual):

First name—Sam 

Last name—Pearson

If the client is an individual, the date of birth field is mandatory. The name of the trading entity does not need to be entered in the transferee details section. However, the trading name should be noted in the detailed property description field if it relates to a transfer of business assets.

Enter the company name exactly as written in the client's documents (using upper and lower case) in the Company name field. The ABN or ACN must be provided. The following abbreviations may be used:

ATF—as trustee for 

Ltd—Limited

Pty Ltd—Proprietary Limited

Enter street and suburb/town names in full, and use sentence case. For example:

'Road' not 'Rd'

'Street' not 'St'

'Brisbane' not 'BRISBANE' or 'BNE'

If the property is a single lot, enter the lot number in the Lot from field. Use the Lot to field only when entering consecutive lots on the same plan.
